History
Court Reporting Services, Inc. was established and incorporated in the state of Kentucky in January 1992 by co-founders Monica Soergel Lipman, court reporter, and Ronald Lipman, husband/business owner.
Monica, having grown-up with court reporting, always envisioned someday owning and operating her own firm. As a young girl, she was assigned the family job of pulling carbons from between the typed pages of transcripts and separating the originals from the copies. She vividly remembers constantly having to explain to friends and classmates why she always had ink stains on her fingertips. She also recalls helping track her court-reporting father’s accounts receivables, which, at that time, were sorted in a 3x5 index-card file.
Monica was always fascinated by the work-flow of the transcripts dictated by her father and typed by her aunt. She watched closely as her older brother attended and eventually graduated from court reporting school. During that time, she began to notice many changes taking place within the court reporting profession—changes due mostly to new technologies. That excited Monica to no end, and it wasn’t long until she was in court reporting school herself.
Upon graduation, Monica spent time as a freelance court reporter, gaining much-needed experience and additional knowledge. When the time was finally right, she was all-too-ready to pursue her dream—a dream of not just owning and operating her own firm, but one of making it top-notch—embracing winning technologies and providing impeccable client service.
From day one, the entire CRS team has strived to do just that. Going forward, we all pledge to our many valued clients to always continue in that endeavor!
